Level 3 Ebike

Bought the bike for my son to travel to band camp this summer. Delivered and assembled very fast! I can’t get my son off of the bike and may need an intervention at some point.

The bike is so enjoyable that I decided not to take off a star for customer service. But more on that in a minute.

I have now owned the bike for two years, and it has performed without trouble. The style is great, the paint is great, the torque sensor is smooth, the shifting is smooth, the disc brakes provide a secure feeling, the throttle and 5 power levels provide versatility, and the components are of high quality and have held up to use. I have also come to appreciate the headlight, fenders, and storage racks. I also love that it is a thoughtfully designed ebike with an integrated battery. I know it's a minor matter, but many manufacturers strap a large battery to a rear rack and that feels like lazy engineering.

As a resident of densely populated New Jersey, I am never alone on the road or trail. The Level ebike has given me a new ability to ride confidently in traffic by using the throttle to quickly and more safely get through busy intersections. My practice at red lights is to claim the lane then use the throttle to keep up with traffic, get through the intersection, then move back to the shoulder. No more getting honked at or squeezed out of a lane as you try to get moving from a stop.

The Level 2 has also taken away "hill anxiety." The 5 power level settings allow you to dial in the perfect setting to get as much workout as you're in the mood for. If you're on the fence about getting an ebike, I rode regular bikes for 25 years but doubt I'll ever go back... the level 2 is just too much fun with the added benefit of "intersection safety" and the removal of "hill anxiety."

Finally, customer service. My info is now two years old as I wanted to be able to speak on the bike's longevity. I hope things have improved. However, back in 2023, Aventon was known for poor customer service. I contacted them after assembling the bike. The build was easy, but I'm 6'3" and it was immediately clear that the bike was too small for me. Anyone who is my height knows that such wide claims (the Lg frame covers 5'10" to 6'4") often don't work out, and this was one such case. I contacted their customer service team, then spent the next 45 days asking them to stop ignoring me. They kept promising they were looking into it, but were really just hoping I would go away. I fixed the problem with the addition of a $30 extended reach stem. Eventually, I stopped payment via my credit card company, sent them copies of the mind-numbing chat I had with the Aventon team, and won the dispute. All that is to say...buyer beware if there is a problem.

The bike is, with the addition of the proper components for a tall rider, so nice that I almost feel bad for getting it for free. But Aventon has to work on their culture and fix their customer service. Bikes have always been something one buys at a commmunity bike shop, and Aventon has to figure out how to make up for the lack of personal touch when making purchases via mail order.

As a Level 1 owner I was quite happy with my bike, but the step through option and new tech on the Level 3 proved too hard to resist. And boy am I glad that I upgraded. The torque sensor along with the many other features just takes the riding experience to another level! (see what I did there). There are others who have done a great job outlining all the improvements, suffice it to say the value for dollar spent is hard to beat. This is the perfect bike for me and couldn’t be happier. I recently purchased this eBike and couldn't be happier with my decision. From the moment it arrived, everything about the experience has been top-notch. The packaging was secure, assembly was straightforward (with clear instructions), and the bike felt solid and well-built right out of the box.

What really impressed me is the powerful motor and smooth pedal assist—it makes hills feel effortless and commuting a breeze. The battery life is excellent; I’m easily getting 30+ miles on a single charge with mixed use. I also appreciate the modern design—it turns heads wherever I go!

The ride is smooth, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. The suspension does a great job of absorbing bumps, and the brakes are very responsive. I use it for both commuting and weekend rides, and it performs beautifully in both situations.

Overall, I highly recommend this eBike to anyone looking for a reliable, fun, and eco-friendly way to get around. Definitely worth the investment!
