Purchased my Level.2 in late April and began riding it on May 1st of this year, as of me writing this comment (June 28th) I have put 716 miles on it, so needless to say I ride it often. Firstly, utterly in love with the bike and it is my primary form of transportation as well as my main form of exercise. This being said there's nothing wrong with the saddle and seat post that comes standard with the Aventon bikes, however I wanted to see if the hype was real about two things, finding the right saddle and possibly a suspension seat post. The saddle I swapped out for a Cloud 9 suspension Cruiser Gel and while that did make a great difference I decided to just pull the trigger on this seat post. I figured for the price, if it didn't work out the worst that could happen is that I returned it.
...And I will never ever return this thing. I am FLOORED by how much of a difference this seat post makes. There aren't really words for me to describe it and unfortunately like a lot of other reviews online, you really have to ride it to understand. The key issue is getting your height correct as it took me a bit of up and down my street to get use to the slightly new shift in height, AND VERY KEY, to get the tension right for my body, however after I did within a few minutes I literally said out loud, "okay yeah, people online weren't kidding!"
Most bumps just get deleted from the road as you softly glide over them, they just simply don't seem imposing anymore. My Level.2 is unlocked to a Class 3 (fully legal in my state) and it isn't uncommon for me to cruise around 25mph down the bike lanes on the sides of the roads here. That being said it really, and I mean this, really feels like I'm hovering above the road now. Before the saddle would shake and bounce or your attention would be drawn to upcoming dips or uneven asphalt, but now it really feels like they don't exist.
One thing to note. I'm not sure if it's just me or the seat post, however after I installed it I noticed my natural weight shift slightly backwards just a tad, which I didn't expect, but given the engineering of the seat post this is totally logical. This is in no way a bad thing, but I'm just bringing attention to this because that slight shift made me feel my thigh muscles work a bit harder, which I personally feel is a good thing because I want to stay fit (and have noticed an improvement because I'm working them differently now) while being in comfort.
If the price scares you, just save up longer and then purchase it. You really shouldn't be looking to buy a cheap seat post, it simply isn't worth it to your body. Spend the money, get the right product the first time. This is a SOLID winner.
