Aventon Control Unit’s 4G†/GPS† capabilities introduce an array of new features.

  • GPS Location - GPS positioning is performed periodically and the position is updated to the Aventon app.
  • 4G cellular communication - The ACU communicates with cloud servers over 4G cellular networks.
  • Geofencing - Set boundaries where your ebike is allowed or not allowed to go.
  • Report lost - With 4G subscription, the motor assistance can be disabled from the Aventon app, and the bike’s motor will stop functioning.
  • Remote shutdown - The Aventon app can remotely control the shutdown of the ACU via Bluetooth or 4G network.
  • Alarm and Motion sensor - Now you can remotely detect movement and security verification failure, all from the Aventon app. After the shutdown, the ACU’s built-in accelerometer will continuously monitor for vibrations (such as being moved, falling, etc), and will report it through the 4G connection when detected.
  • Status report - With 4G, whether your bike is on or off, the ebike status info like location and battery is directly uploaded to the cloud server when the Aventon app is not connected. Through your Aventon app, you can also receive updates on ebike status and change notification frequency as desired.
  • Ride statistics summary - During your ride - mileage, duration, start/end locations are recorded and uploaded to the cloud server via Bluetooth or 4G, even when your Aventon app is not in use.
  • Transportation Mode - All functions such as status reporting and vibration monitoring can be turned off. For long-distance transportation, reducing the use of ACU’s 4G, can save battery power.
Aventon ebikes like the Level 3 are built to the IPX5 water-resistant standard. An IPX5 rating means the bike is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This provides a moderate level of water resistance, allowing you to ride in light to moderate rain or through small puddles. However, IPX5 does not mean waterproof—Aventon ebikes are not designed for full submersion. Avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure sprayer to clean your ebike, as pressurized water can still damage components.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

New Level 3 for Montana

Purchased and assembled the Level 3 Ebike for use in Montana and Arizona. The assembly was a little tricky, but the video is very helpful aiding any questions. We did have a warped front brake rotor that the company addressed very quickly. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and look forward to getting out.

very tough and dependable e-bike

I bought my wife a Level2 in June 2023 for her Birthday she rides it almost everyday. Oct of 2025 she was ricing her bike and a pick up truck turned on the road she was riding coming toward her in her lane and hit her head on. She in still fighting her injuries but doing better. She had a concussion, tree broken ribs, bruised lung, broken Tibia and Fibia, Had surgery to fix broken Knee with a plate and four screws and also a blood clot on the damaged area not to mention all the cuts and bruises. Her bike has minor damage needing a wheel and brake control etc. The bike has over 16,000 miles on it and have only had to replace brake pads so far. Yes over 16,000 miles on the original tires. Can't recommend this product enough. Awesome bike!!!

Love the Level 3!

My husband and I ordered a couple weeks ago, then he assembled the bikes when they arrived. And despite recovering from a cold virus, I gleefully rode my inaugural ride to our friends’ house to show off the bike (they both have Aventon e-bikes, which helped drive our choice). I had to ride my husband’s L bike, but no problem. The next day, when my bike was ready, we rode a challenging path with a steep hill (yes, there ARE hills in Nebraska!), and was greatly satisfied with its performance. Now winter has hit, with the first light snow, so we’ll hold off until streets clear and weather is a bit warmer, but looking forward to riding every chance we get. So far, so good!

Short review

I couldn’t get my cell phone to link up to the bike after downloading the app. Tried 5 times over several days. I remembered that I had not registered the bike yet. After registering the bike , the App connected!
Nowhere on the website is this mentioned! I’m old, you got to remember to keep things simple !

Next: while I am used to the Torque mode….i bought the bike as a second bike for family and friends to ride along with me. Since many of them aren’t experienced riders I wanted to test out the cadence mode.
On trails, which I ride with them, I like the fact that most bikes will hold a speed on cadence mode….which makes it easier to stay with someone. Big surprise…this bike does NOT hold at speed! It also goes up to nearly 17 mph on ECO while on cadence. I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. This is my 6th e bike…I’m very familiar with how cadence sensors usually work.
It is still an excellent bike….just the one disappointment with how cadence works . About 50 miles so far….winter has shut me down.

Great E-Bike Cruiser Safe Reliable

Nice Safe Ride I like The Interface of Torque Sensor Ilike the Display Consul it would be nice to have the Battery % in a Larger Font and Controller + & - Symbol Highlighted. A good electronic Horn would be a Plus.
However: There is a Learning Curve with Interfacing Cell Phone with Lock unlock System. Communicating with Aventon Program.
