FAQs

While the Level 2 does not include turn signals, it does come equipped with front and rear lights for a safer riding experience, day or night.
The average range for the Level.2 commuter ebike is up to 60 miles per charge, depending on the pedal assist level and throttle usage. For optimal riding experience with the Level.2, use the lowest PSA level to conserve battery life and extend range.
The Level 2 is a commuter-style ebike equipped with a suspension fork, fenders, and a rear rack, while the Pace 500.3 is a cruiser-style electric bike with an upright riding position, swept-back handlebars, and cushioned saddle.
Commuter ebike tires are designed to be versatile and can be ridden on both smooth and rough surfaces, including roads, gravel, dirty trails, rocky areas, and even wetlands. If you want to overcome more challenging terrain and trails, our electric mountain bike is better suited for rougher landscape due to their wider tires and different geometry.
The Level 2 commuter electric bike weighs 62 lbs with the battery installed. (Battery weight is 7.6lbs)
Aventon’s Level 2 comes equipped with a throttle that has a maximum speed of 20 mph.
Aventon ebikes like the Level 2 are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike.
Either an adjustable stem or a handlebar with a higher rise can elevate the riding position of the bike.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.
Some Aventon models, such as the Level 2, Level 3, Abounds, Sinch 2, & Aventure 2, come with pre-installed fenders and a rear rack. Additional accessories are available for purchase. Explore a wide-range of Aventon accessories, including helmets, locks, bike pumps, and so much more to add to your next riding adventure.
All Aventon-branded frames, framesets, components, and batteries come with a 2-year warranty. Learn more about the Aventon warranty.
Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

A solid bike that performs better than expected

I purchased the REC 4 as I had previously been impressed using another model on vacation
The REC 4 is a great bike for suburban and urban driving and as well with acceleration on hills and makes riding a breeze. The four boost level levels enable you to ride with a level of assist to your own choosing. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Our Third Adventon Bike. Hits the Sweet Spot for me...

This is our third Aventon Bike. Sold my Adventure 2 and just got a Level 4 Rec. It's a nice mid-way point between the Adv 2 and the wife's Pace 500. So far, with all the new features etc., really like it over the Adventure 2.

The Adventure 2 did ride nice, but was a bit bulky to load on a bike rack, work on, and maneuver around. It seemed like a small motorcycle at times.

Level 4 Rec is a lot more nimble, easier to load, and has some really great features that you can't find anywhere else in the market for the price. Great value!

Every bike we've bought came in great shape, with no issues, and easy to assemble. Excellent quality!

Bike number four in the future? Let's get some miles on these two first! LOL But, when it comes time again, Aventon will be the first place we look.

Hi Tony,

Welcome back for bike number three! It is awesome to hear how the Level 4 REC hits that ideal middle ground for you between the heavy-duty Aventure 2 and your wife’s Pace 500. Getting that lighter, more nimble handling while still keeping top-tier features makes loading up for rides so much smoother. We appreciate your loyalty to Aventon over the years, and we hope you and your wife log plenty of great miles together before you even think about number four!

Regards,
Aventon

Great bike for a first timer

This is my first bike, and first e-bike. Ordered the bike on sale, and it came straight to my door. Instructions and tools made setup really easy. Was able to start riding immediately and the features and build make me confident to be able to get on and go. Great bike!

Hi there,

Thank you for your review. We are honored that your very first e-bike is an Aventon! It is fantastic to hear that your order arrived smoothly, that assembly was straightforward with the included tools, and that you were able to hit the road right away with confidence. Hearing how much you love your new ride means the world to us. Thank you for choosing Aventon, and welcome to the Aventon family!

Regards,
Aventon

Level 4 REC after 1k miles

I bought this bike new from a local dealer and put well over 1000 miles on it so far. It's amazing - highly versatile, really powerful, and I love the regen coasting and braking similar to a hybrid car. I use it for exercise, commuting to work, cruising around town, and even carrying my toddler in a Thule Yepp mounted on the rear rack. Great for the massive hills I need to tackle every day. You have plenty of glowing reviews available. Here are the negatives, since that's what you probably want to know.

-Turn signals are silent and do not auto-cancel. They time out. It's not make or break, just mildly annoying. I signal with my arms anyway to be visible.

-I'm 250 lbs, and the stock seat wasn't too comfortable on 1+ hour rides, so I picked up a new one. Not very expensive.

-I had an issue with the regen coasting not kicking in full strength when going over the speed limit set in the app, but kudos to Aventon, they seemed to fix this with a firmware update.

Nothing that'd make me question my purchase decision. If someone gave me my money back now and told me I could buy any other bike from Aventon or a competitor, I would buy the same one again.

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed, thoughtful, and balanced review! Putting over 1,000 miles on your bike across daily commutes, hill climbs, family rides with your toddler, and workout sessions is incredible to hear.

We are thrilled that features like regenerative braking and the versatile frame geometry have made such a positive impact on your daily routine. We also truly appreciate your constructive feedback about some of the bikes features.

Hearing that you’d choose this exact same bike all over again is the best compliment we could ask for. Thank you for being such an awesome part of the Aventon community, and we wish you and your toddler many more safe, happy miles ahead!

Best regards,
Aventon
