FAQs

The differences include hydraulic brakes, a more traditional road tire, and updated frame design.
Soltera 2.5 uses upgraded hydraulic disc brakes, while the Soltera 2 uses mechanical disc brakes. This was one of the most commonly requested upgrades on the Soltera 2. The hydraulic brakes offer more stopping power and better modulation. This increases overall safety, allowing riders to stop faster and more effectively.
Soltera 2.5 also uses a more traditional road tire, as the Soltera 2 uses a more "all-terrain" tire. The difference in the intended use of tires is dependent on tread pattern. The Soltera 2.5 uses a tire with a smoother tread pattern, increasing the amount of rubber that contacts the road. This improves grip and efficiency while riding on paved roads.
The point at which the seat stays meet the seat tube have been moved upward slightly on the Soltera 2.5 to create a sleeker looking frame. This does not impact ride quality or frame geometry. It is purely aesthetic.
In an effort to enhance a seamless riding experience, we have removed the motor cutoff sensors. Much like the majority of performance E-bikes on the market, the removal of that cutoff allows riders to have more control over the motor output and the bikes behavior overall. It also removes the need for 2 additional wires from the brake and wiring harness. Reducing the number of connections and wires ultimately reduces the number of possible failure points. It also give shops and riders the ability to swap brakes if they prefer a different brake, without needing to worry about being compatible with the brake cutoff.
Aventon ebikes like the Soltera 2.5 are built to the IPX5 water-resistant standard. An IPX5 rating means the bike is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This provides a moderate level of water resistance, allowing you to ride in light to moderate rain or through small puddles. However, IPX5 does not mean waterproof—Aventon ebikes are not designed for full submersion. Avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure sprayer to clean your ebike, as pressurized water can still damage components.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.
Some Aventon models, such as the Level 2, Level 3, Abounds, Sinch 2, & Aventure 2, come with pre-installed fenders and a rear rack. Additional accessories are available for purchase. Explore a wide-range of Aventon accessories, including helmets, locks, bike pumps, and so much more to add to your next riding adventure.
All Aventon-branded frames, framesets, components, and batteries come with a 2-year warranty. Learn more about the Aventon warranty.
Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Great upgrade

🚲 Why I Upgraded from the Aventon Soltera 7S to the Soltera 2.5

After riding the Soltera 7S for a while, I decided it was time to level up — and the Soltera 2.5 delivered across the board. Here’s why the upgrade was worth every penny:

✅ Torque Sensor = Smoother Ride
The 7S uses a cadence sensor (just senses pedal movement). The 2.5? It uses a torque sensor that responds to how hard you pedal. That means smoother acceleration and better control. Huge difference!

✅ Hydraulic Brakes = Safer Stops
Switched from mechanical to Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. The stopping power is way more responsive — feels solid and safe, especially in city traffic.

✅ Faster Tires, Cleaner Look
The 2.5 has 700×38c Kenda tires with reflective sidewalls — fast, smooth, and safer at night. Plus, they routed the cables inside the frame this time. Sleek!

✅ Built-in Lights + Turn Signals
No more buying clip-on lights. This thing has integrated LED lights AND turn signals right on the frame. It’s a commuter’s dream.

✅ Better Display + App Support
The full-color screen on the 2.5 is sharp and user-friendly. Bonus: it connects to the Aventon app and even charges your phone via USB.

✅ Longer Range
Still rocking the 350W motor, but thanks to better pedal efficiency and tires, the 2.5 gets around 46 miles per charge vs. 41 on the 7S.

💡 Final Thoughts:
The Soltera 2.5 just feels smarter, smoother, and more refined. Whether you’re riding for fun or commuting daily, it’s a clear upgrade. Totally happy I made the switch!

Love this bike….More comfortable than it looks

I have disabilities so wanted to try e-bikes and many weigh a lot. I was skeptical of the geometry of this bike until I rode it and was really floored by how easy it is to ride. Someone knocked it off the bike stand and damaged the deraulier so I’m going to start using Velcro straps in addition to locks to tether the bike. With my rear rack and basket it might be a little top heavy. The tires are surprisingly robust, too, for narrow tires. Love the throttle too so I can get out of the way during higher traffic times of day.

Hi Dawn!

Thank you so much for your review and for giving our Soltera 2.5 Ebike a chance. We are thrilled to hear that you love it and find it more comfortable than it looks. We understand your concerns about the deraulier, and we suggest using Velcro straps as an additional safety measure. Our team is also working on improving the design to make it more stable with rear racks and baskets. We are glad to know that the tires are holding up well and that you appreciate the throttle feature. Thank you for choosing our e-bike and we hope you continue to enjoy riding it. Happy biking!

Is the Aventon Soltera 2 Worth It? 100% Yes!!

Sure! Here’s a warm, human-style review of the Aventon Soltera 2 all in one clean package:

I’ve been riding the Aventon Soltera 2, and honestly, it’s the kind of bike that just makes you want to go places. It’s lightweight, super sleek, and glides through the city effortlessly. The motor gives just the right push—smooth, quiet, and natural-feeling—perfect for commuting or casual cruising. The throttle is a lifesaver when you’re tired or taking off from a stop, and the battery lasts longer than you’d expect for such a minimalist setup.
It’s also a head-turner. The clean lines, integrated lights, and sharp design make it look way more expensive than it is. It rides more like a regular bike than most e-bikes, which I love—it doesn’t feel bulky or clunky at all.
Sure, it doesn’t have suspension or disc brakes, but with a good suspension seatpost and a bit of awareness on rough roads, it’s still a joy to ride. For the price, style, and overall ride quality, the Soltera 2 is seriously impressive. It’s like having a lightweight road bike… with superpowers.

Thank you again for choosing Aventon and happy riding!
