While the Level 2 does not include turn signals, it does come equipped with front and rear lights for a safer riding experience, day or night.
The average range for the Level.2 commuter ebike is up to 60 miles per charge, depending on the pedal assist level and throttle usage. For optimal riding experience with the Level.2, use the lowest PSA level to conserve battery life and extend range.
The Level 2 is a commuter-style ebike equipped with a suspension fork, fenders, and a rear rack, while the Pace 500.3 is a cruiser-style electric bike with an upright riding position, swept-back handlebars, and cushioned saddle.
Commuter ebike tires are designed to be versatile and can be ridden on both smooth and rough surfaces, including roads, gravel, dirty trails, rocky areas, and even wetlands. If you want to overcome more challenging terrain and trails, our electric mountain bike is better suited for rougher landscape due to their wider tires and different geometry.
The Level 2 commuter electric bike weighs 62 lbs with the battery installed. (Battery weight is 7.6lbs)
Aventon’s Level 2 comes equipped with a throttle that has a maximum speed of 20 mph.
Aventon ebikes like the Level 2 are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike.
Either an adjustable stem or a handlebar with a higher rise can elevate the riding position of the bike.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Two Bikes Purchased

We recently purchased one Level 3 Step-Through bike at a local bike shop fully assembled, and a week later onWe recently purchased two Aventon Level 3 Step-Through bikes — one fully assembled from a local bike shop, and one shipped directly from Aventon. Assembly of the shipped bike was straightforward, well documented, and took less than an hour using the online video.

After several 8–15 mile rides, we’re very happy with the bikes. Our town’s bike paths have some pretty rough sections, but the front suspension fork and suspension seatpost handle bumps really well. My wife prefers to pedal the entire time, while I tend to use the throttle more often — both riding styles work great on this bike.

The anti-theft system is a big bonus: the locking hub, vibration detection, and phone alerts give real peace of mind when leaving the bike unattended.

For mostly flat bike paths and city riding, these bikes are an excellent value. I also opted for the step-through model and, as a 60+ rider, I’m really glad I did — getting on and off the bike is much easier without having to swing a leg over a top tube.

Overall, five stars!e directly from Aventon. The assembly process was well documented, and using the on-line video, took less than an hour to complete. We have taken multiple 8-15 mile rides, and really like the bikes. The bike paths around town have some major bumps in them, but with the shock front fork and shock-seat, they are very manageable. My wife likes to pedal the whole time, while I will use the throttle more often - both work really well. I also really like the anti-theft system, with the locking hub and vibration detection and alert. For our use, on mostly flat roads and bike path rides, these bike are a great value and I really couldn’t ask for anything more. I decided to also get the step-through, and as an older male (60+), I’m really glad I did. It’s so much easier getting on and off the bike and not having to swing my leg over a bar is really nice. Five Stars all around.

1,200 mile review

After a year with the Level 2 the only con is the very strong power in level 1 which means that you'll have to ride fast in a high gear or climb hills to get regular type bike levels of exercise. When climbing a long mile or longer steep hill it is best to maintain a pace of 8 plus mph to avoid overheating. A quick cadence in granny gear will suffice, but going too slow allows too much heat to build up at summertime temperatures. The bike otherwise has been totally reliable and handles well, with a genuine range in hilly terrain of at least 35 miles-much further if the route is flat. A small handlebar mirror and bar ends as well as a rack bag and an aftermarket alarm attached in an inconspicuous spot are my only modifications. The brakes and derailleur work well and the tires still have good tread after mostly road riding with some dirt roads as well. I have transported the bike on a rear rack, using a Velcro battery compartment cover and welders arm protectors over the handlebars, and the bike endured torrential rains with no damage. I wish the factory had incorporated a flashing rear light for daytime commuting, but at night the stock lights are very visible. So, for a good all around bike with a good, natural feel and long battery range, the Level 2 works well. I plan on keeping it for years.

Awesome!!

I was hesitant to purchase because I love the exercise I get from pedaling my non-ebike. My husband got his Aventure and I tried it and liked it but was to big for me. I Bought the Level 3 and absolutely love it. Great workout and love the ride. We are not getting any younger and this bike let's me go further and see more.I LOVE IT!! Thank you Aventon and my husband for encouraging me to try the bike. 100% recommend the Level 3 for smaller statue women!
