Yes, you can upgrade the brakes on an Aventon Soltera.2 to hydraulic brakes by replacing the mechanical assembly with a hydraulic assembly. This is a cost-effective way to upgrade the brake system.

Here are some things to consider when upgrading to hydraulic brakes:

Brake fluid: Hydraulic brakes can use either mineral oil or DOT fluid. Mineral oil is more commonly used, but DOT fluid has a higher boiling point and can handle more heat. Hydraulic brake assemblies are only compatible with one type of oil. Only use the specific oil listed on the brake lever assembly. Currently, all Aventon bikes with hydraulic brakes use only mineral oil.

Caliper and brake pads: Upgraded brake assemblies may have more pistons in the caliper. Entry-level brakes usually have a 2-piston style, while upgraded brakes may have a 4-piston configuration. Various brake pad compounds are available for different riding applications.

Stopping power: Hydraulic brakes provide better stopping power than mechanical disc brakes, which are actuated by a cable. This is especially beneficial for electric bikes that carry more weight or reach higher speeds.
Yes. Swapping out the Soltera.2’s shifter is easy and identical to a traditional bike. The existing cables are compatible for both styles of shifters.

Aventon ebikes like the Soltera.2 are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
Yes. Class 1 ebikes are pedal-assist only, meaning they have no throttle and can only reach a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour. By removing the throttle on your Aventon ebike and ensuring the max speed limit is set to 20mph, you can configure a class 2 to a class 1 ebike for trail use.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Great lightweight bike

My wife needed a lightweight bike and something easy to handle. The Soltera 2 is just right for her. This bike has plenty of zip to climb hills.

Great bike

Just got the bike put together a couple of days ago. So far so good. I am very happy with it, especially the way the torque sensor works. It makes it easier to ride uphill. Quality also seems to be on the high side.

Soltera 2 Review

Excellent bike! Packaging was top notch! I was amazed at how well the bike and its accessories were boxed! The box came in damaged and was actually lighter than expected. The assembly was straight forward and easy. As far as the ride, it is good, heavy as all e-bikes tend to be. If there was a downside to this bike, it is the battery life. After 30 minutes of street riding, power down to 49%. No Hills, just straight riding. Could be a weight issue but overall impressions, sweet bike and look forward to many miles on it. Customer Service was superb when I reached them.

My e- bike

I have to knee surgery on both my knees. As an avid cyclist I have been depress with not riding this year. When my surgery was postponed at the end of July I started riding again. This was difficult because I couldn’t do hills or go for long periods of time . I purchased a Aventon e-bike. I now have the freedom to go out and do as many miles that I want. The Aventon has giving me the freedom to go biking again. So far I have 659 miles since August 18th . Being 72 years old I now have the freedom to go what I have been doing for 35 years. Thank you!
