Why not? We're confident and proud of our ebike platform. Although Aventon's focus is approachable and accessible e-mobility, we think that the Current LTD is a more complete package to show off what our platform can provide to riders.
Correct. We made 99 of these bikes for the general public and we're keeping it that way. While the price point is definitely a departure from our usual offerings, we think that we've done the most to make it worth your hard earned cash.
Choosing the right sized bike for you can be a personal preference. There are many different measurements that affect riding comfort and performance, such as standover, reach, and seatpost height. If you're looking for a great place to start, we have recommended sizing in our geo chart.
The weight limit for the Current EXP, Current ADV, and Current LTD is 300 lbs.
The bike will come with tubes installed, but is still considered Tubeless Ready!
"Tubeless Ready" means a few things. First, the wheels and tires are both tubeless ready, meaning that tires can bead directly into the rim of the wheel. Second, the wheels come taped for tubeless so the sealant (the fluid that seals small punctures) doesn't seep through the spoke holes.

The Current is built on a trail bike platform, meaning that it will handle a majority of trails. We have tested the Current on everything from green flow to double-black diamond downhill trails, and it's taken them on with varying levels of difficulty.

Yes, the Current EXP, Current ADV, and Current LTD have waterproof ratings of IPX6, while the Ultro X motor has a waterproof rating of IP67, meaning the bikes can handle direct streams of water and some submersion.
140mm - 160mm forks are perfectly fine to use. Forks with travel out of this range will void the warranty if installed.
At this time, there are no coil shocks approved for use on the Current frame. Use of an unapproved coil shock may cause frame damage and will void the warranty.If Aventon approves any coil shock options in the future, the approved shock models, sizing requirements, and compatibility details will be listed in official Aventon documentation. Please check back at a later date for updates.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:
- 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
- 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
- 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
- 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
- 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
- 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
- 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.
Some Aventon models, such as the Level 2, Level 3, Abounds, Sinch 2, & Aventure 2, come with pre-installed fenders and a rear rack. Additional accessories are available for purchase. Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

I bought my Current EXP from a local shop. I spent HOURS scouring the internet and watching Youtube videos of all brands of bikes. I really liked the value proposition that the Current provided. More power than bikes costing $10,000 and seemingly very good components. I figured I would give it a shot. I have about 100 miles on the odometer and I don't know why anyone would buy another product. Smooth power delivery, great breaking, excellent shifting. The screen is fantastic with the wireless remote, and the LTE / GPS capability is absolutely legit. Thank you Aventon for not charging an arm and a leg. 1yr free then $20 a year thereafter is a steal for that. I would buy this bike again and again if I needed to. All of the YouTube reviews that praise this bike are correct. One other cool part about Aventon is that they are a California based company. I am a Northern California native so Its cool to support a (newer) bike company in my home state. I am your biggest (and newest) cheerleader and will tell all of my bike friends that this is the answer to the e-mtb question. I will certainly be purchasing another Aventon product for my wife and son. Aventon, thank you for knocking this out of the park.

I'm 58 years old and the Aventon Current ADV is the first emtb I've ever ridden and owned. I ride trails on a regular basis and xc race on occasion, therefore my fitness level I feel is really good. I got this bike because there are times when I want to ride but not necessarily get a high intensity workout usually because I'm in a state of needed recovery. This bike gets me on the trail having fun at a reduced heart rate and physical need to grind up hills. Because of my current fitness level I find the ECO mode very adequate. For those wanting a work out , this bike can deliver it in eco mode. You can still push yourself , you just have a faster average speed and can ride longer. But if you're training for a race I still use my regular bike . This bike is fun and offers me more riding opportunities especially when my legs are a little tired. The suspension is just fine for typical xc type trails and even though the bike weighs 56 lbs, you don't really feel the weight , even on twisty singletrack. In short if you're on the fence about owning an emtb but never considered due to high prices, then this bike may be for you. It rides well, even when the motor is off and if you already ride trails on a regular basis you will find yourself right at home on this bike. I would definitely recommend this bike to my friends without hesitation.

The Current ADV is perfect at $3999, with the geometry specs, and the mid drive system. I’m completely satisfied with my purchase. The bike’s performace was no slouch on my local trails, box stock, which is considered advanced and technical. With the money I saved, adding upgrades will unleash this bike’s full potential.
