This is my fixed gear número uno, and I must say that the Mataro has me hooked on riding them. The bike is wicked fast and I love its simplicity. I was looking for a commuter bike initially, and I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into when I bought the bike. Props to y’all though for getting me a buy a bike that is not necessarily made for commuting, but is hella fun to ride! (Plus it looks pretty rad too)

Also aside from the bike being great, Aventon’s customer service is bomb! Shoutout to the dude that answered all of my questions when I called cause you were nice, engaged, and extremely helpful (sorry that I can’t remeber your name, but you know who you are)!

If you’re looking for a bike that is fun to ride, and don’t wanna break the bank don’t skip out on the Mataro!

Deuces gotta ride to class!

Awesome bike

It’s the best bike I’ve gotten it’s a neck breaker for sure just upgraded a few parts but other then that it’s the perfect bike straight out the box no cons a lot of pros.

Fun bike, but had wheel quality issues

I give the Aventon Mataro bike itself a 4 out of 5, but took off a star for wheel issues on mine.

pros:
+fairly light and stiff = high fun factor
+good deal for the price point
+good looking paint job

cons:
-wheels looked a bit out of true upon unboxing, but seemed ridable. then 35 miles into first ride, a spoke nipple fall out, leaving spoke without any tension. sigh.
-rear dropout & wheel combo slipped occasionally when starting up steeper gradients, despite having applied considerable torque to the bolts

Sean, thank you for a great honest review, we appreciate you doing so. As far as the cons, feel free to reach out to us at info@aventon.com to help fix the issues.

I’m concerned

Is it wrong to be so attracted to a bike? Because I am. I had been daydreaming about the navy blue all summer waiting for it to be back in stock then they drop the white and I’m so glad I went with that. It felt like it took an eternity to ship but in reality it arrived hastily and in great condition, just had to grease up quite a few parts. It rides like a f*****g champ I’ve just had some bad luck with the Kenda tires on city streets so far and the pedals leave a lot to be desired otherwise it is impossible for me to happier. Thanks Aventon!

Great Bike

Super lightweight and fast. My only complaint is it came with a couple of scratches on the frame, its supposed to be perfect, anyway i like it
