My kids love it. Took a little to install but feels very safe, kids sit backwards forwards sideways and always feel secure.
Wondering if anyone knows what size washers it uses so I can replace a few. Thanks!
This bike is awesome. Have 700 miles on it and rode across Missouri on the Katy Trail. Performed well. Took a spare battery and very quick to switch it out. Seat has become very comfortable. Been a road biker for decades and hesitated to get an e bike. My wife recommended the Soltera 2.5 and I'm so glad she did. Rode with a fairly large group of hardcore riders on the Katy and was able to keep up with any of them.
My son and I were both in the market for an EMTB. We test rode Specialized Turbo Levo 4's, Santa Cruz Vala, and I also test drove the Specialized Levo R. My son was set to purchase the Canyon Spectral ON:CF7 on the same day the Memorial Day sale started on the ADV. I stopped down at my local dealer, who had just gotten an EXP setup that I was able to test ride. Was pleasantly surprised by how well it felt compared the Levo 4 (as a side note, I was about to purchase the S-Works Levo 4 frameset when Specialized dropped the price since I already had 90% of the components I needed off of my analogue bike). The bike was nimble, had more power, and was a complete bike for the same price as the Levo 4 frameset. Left there thinking hmmm, so I texted my son that another dealer around us had a ADV in stock and I thought he should check it out before purchasing the Spectral. Drove up to the other dealer after work, he test drove the ADV and immediately purchased a XL in Camouflage. While there, I was eyeing up the EXP they had and just as I was about to pull the trigger, my son talked me into the ADV in a L Blue Onyx. I have not owned an aluminum frame bike in years, so I was a little hesitant. But for $2K savings, and I already knew I was changing out the parts to my personal build spec, I decided to take the plunge. Boy, am I glad I did! Never really rode the bike in stock configuration as I tore it down the next day to put my components on, but in current form, this thing blows me away! It's such a fun bike to ride. Very agile on the trails, the ups are as fun as the downs, very supple over the bumps, and the aluminum really feels nice underneath. And the frameset is very nice looking, very clean lines, and the welds are nicely done. My son's bike was torn down, and his personal parts were also installed on his. My large as is weighs in at 52 lbs, and his XL weighs in at 55lbs. Not bad at considering the carbon framed Turbo Levo 4 weight 56lbs!
My biggest gripe is with the battery tray and the way the cables/hoses are sandwiched between the frame and tray. Makes installing cables/hoses a little cumbersome and you have to make sure they don't get crossed when reinstalling the tray. No mind you, my rear brake hose is fully encased in Jagwire internal hose damper and so is the main computer cable to limit any cable rattle, bit it would be nice if in future revisions, you could incorporate internal guides attached to the battery tray so it would not need to be removed for hose or cable changeouts. Other than that, huge thumbs up for an awesome bike!
Are you going to be offering the mid drive cable to attach the SRAM battery cable adapter for those on the ADV models running AXS? That is the only thing I am missing to make this awesome bike that much better! Please offer the cable adapter for sale!
I went from having not rode a bike in like 10 years to wanting to ride daily. I spent months researching e-bikes and scouring the market for the best bike I could find. The moment I laid eyes on the Abound LR, I had a feeling it would be the bike for me, and lo and behold, I made the purchase. Not only is this the most aesthetically pleasing bike I've ever seen, but it is also the most fun I've ever had with a vehicle. The stock seat was too big, and felt like I was being spanked every time I hit a bump, but replacing it with a narrow one made this the most comfortable bike ever.
Mostly just countering a review that kinda seriously misses the forest for the trees here, BUT these foot boards rock! Had them on my abound LR now for just over a year, hardware was indeed preinstalled on the bike for easy access BUT, hardware stores exist in the event the screws have disappeared. Can vouch for the stout construction of these boards too, full-grown chonky adults can stand full weight on them with NO issue, though it probably isn't within the design spec. If'n you're looking for somewhere your passengers can park their paws, this is it.
Seems to work very well. At first it seemed like it might be a little loose when locking into the rack with just a little extra play.
But in use it seems rock solid and does not rattle.
Great option to easily remove baskets and coolers from your rack quickly.
This is Aventon's recommended freewheel.
I ordered it off the website.
I was able to install it myself with little difficulty.
So far, it works great.
Perfect accessory for my Level 3. No more back pack or gym bag. My Rack-Top Bag holds all my essentials and the quick release feature is the game changer.
I am very happy with my bike as it’s perfect for riding inside NY Central Park with few hills. I have put in 200 miles since April and plan to ride more often. My only desire is for a more powerful motor. Is there a possibility in the future to upgrade to a 350W or a 500W motor?
The bike has amazing suspension, a whole lot of range, and did amazing on technical trails. Definitely worth the purchase.🔥🔥🔥
This is my first e-bike and I love it. Assembly was so easy and everything works great. This Aventure 3 looks awesome and is so well made. I haven’t had much time to ride, but I did get a quick 2 mile cruise on pavement, little uphill, some gravel road and then back home which was downhill. This bike is so smooth. Sport mode is definitely my favorite so far. 😁
I’ve had my Adventure 3 bike now 6 months and it the most amazing bike I’ve ever had. I’m 60 years old and got the step three version. It was the smartest move I’ve made. I’ve had double knee replacement and it had to lift over. Would highly recommend the step through for people with leg and knee issues. I’ve gotten more exercise in six months than the last 6 years.
I’ve had this bike for a week and really happy with it. Love the simplicity of it. Any chance there’s a compatible rear rack available or in the works?
Just finished the first 150 miles on the ADV, including climbs up to 12k feet. The bike performs flawlessly on the downhills and has power to spare on the uphills. The app makes customizing the power settings very easy and the auto setting allows gives you just enough power when you need it. I ordered the Current for myself and a Ramblas for my wife through Bike-n-sport in Santa Fe. Both are great bikes!
After many years of riding together (over 50years ) my son recommended maybe it was time to upgrade . The new pace 4 was our choice . My wife and I test road several makes and Aventon won out . A little hard to get used to because of the weight but in time got used to it and plan many more days riding . The Aventon dealer , Greensburg bike shop , was knowledgeable and friendly , and took care of all our needs .
The Pizza rack was the perfect solution to my needs as I use my e-bike to go fishing in the backwoods and needed the extra room to put a small backpacking table and cooler, it is the perfect solution and works amazing if you need that little bit more room and the item won’t fit in your panniers. Also I like that they gave you plenty of room to run your cable’s through the inside of the mounting bracket! Installation was straightforward and simple but takes a little patience to shim the gaps out with the spacers and washers but it isn’t rocket science just a little fidgeting is all. Well worth the money.
I’ve put ~55 miles on my step thru REC over several short rides (2-5 miles) and a couple longer ones (7-9 miles) over hilly roads, gravel trails, city streets and dirt paths, and it’s been a strong and extremely fun bike. I tore my ACL earlier this year, had surgery and am in mid rehab, this thing has allowed me to regain some form of fitness but also a big boost in freedom. I have a Yepp seat on the rear rack to split carrying my kids with my wife who has an abound Lr, and so far it’s been phenomenal even with a kid on the back. We recently attached our old dog bike trailer to my bike and cruising down trails to parks, cafes etc have all been amazing! The brakes seem tuned well for the extra weight and the assist helps me push thru if I need a little boost. I tuned eco mode down to the lowest entry for each setting and despite the heavy weight, it’s still relatively easy to hill climb etc, so either the gearing or hub motor really helps.
Things I like - the step thru frame is super convenient for me for getting on and off in traffic/ in general, and also makes it so dismounting is easier with my kid sitting on the Yepp seat. The suspension post feels decent, the seat is okay but overall together it makes for a comfortable ride. The hub motor is insane, you can really fly with this thing if you want, and despite the heavier frame, you can sorta lean into turns etc so the handling is decent for a bike this size. The included fenders/rack are solid, the light is solid, and the little features from the app etc are sweet. Battery life is also pretty good - I wish there was a better method to see avg range over a charged period but it isn’t necessary I guess.
Things I dislike or are just okay: the handlebar spacing is tight for addons - it’s probably normal for commuter bikes, but given that the screen takes up a solid chunk of the middle, mounting a large phone, adding a bell etc are a tad squashed in there since you got the throttle and gear/brake assemblies also limiting space. It’s def not a deal breaker, it’s more you just need to be cognizant about what kind of devices you can fit up there. It’s obviously a heavy bike, it’s not the easiest to pickup and maneuver but it’s certainly manageable - it comes with the ebike territory, tho there exists others in this segment that are 10lbs lighter.
Overall this bike is fantastic, it’s so fun to ride that it has us going out for little runs through our neighborhood or to the playgrounds everyday with our kids. Honestly, i genuinely haven’t been this excited to bike in years, and this is coming from a guy who would primarily MTB and didn’t care for road biking that much. I have been heavily considering commuting to work and this thing certainly seems like it would fit the bill! Super happy I went with this bike, was cross shopping a few other brand as well as the Level 4 ADV, went with the hub instead just in case pedaling got uncomfortable for my knee mid ride so I could use the throttle to bail myself out but you don’t really ever need it! 5 stars!

I purchased the seat for my cargo bike and have used it regularly. It was very straightforward to install. I am able to secure a basket to it for my mini dachshund. I also use it for my grand daughter. She loves it! I do have to use a belt to be safe. She is two. It would be fine for an older child.
It was recieved before the scheduled delivery.

I recently got a Soltera 3 for myself and a Soltera 2.5 for my friend, and we’ve both been loving them. They’re smooth and powerful for daily commuting. I do wish the Soltera 3 came with a bit more built‑in comfort, but swapping the handlebar for the Soltera 2 bar gave me a more upright posture and made the ride noticeably better. Riding to work has become easier, faster, and a lot more enjoyable. These bikes have genuinely improved our day‑to‑day routine.
Hi Matthew, we're thrilled to hear you and your friend are enjoying the Soltera bikes! Thanks for sharing your experience and the helpful tip about swapping the handlebar. We hope your daily rides continue to be smooth and enjoyable!
