Will likely buy two more. Love them !
I am very pleased and have already given your information to friends interested in purchasing an electric bike.
My husband bikes 40-60 miles on his bike a few times a week at 18-20mph. The kids don't want to "embrace the suck." I can do about 20 but only at 10mph and would rather not have my wonderful bike ride turn into a suffer fest, so he is left on his own. This bike makes biking super fun and lets me be a cycling buddy to my husband for the long distances (I did buy a second battery), plus I can do the 18-20 mph and hills with him and not be left behind. Actually I can smoke him, which is also super fun. :)
I used to love cycling 20 years ago, and this makes it fun again!
It is a great bike and I love it to pieces!
After renting e bikes several times I thought I'd get one for my life partner as she doesn't enjoy the pace I ride my pedal bike at.
Upon receipt it took no more than an hour to perform the light assembly needed.
I have been assembling things for a very long time which gave me an edge over a complete novice but I would not discourage anyone from giving it a try unless you are ignorant of the least bit of mechanical knowledge or do not have any friends who are the least bit mechanical.
I did not even read the directions it was that simple.
When the bike arrived (the day after ordering!!) it had a broken spoke in the rear wheel which is somewhat troubling because in my opinion the rear wheel should be built extra stout on an e bike but no matter I received a replacement within a day or so.
4 men test rode it at my place of work and they all had a big smile on their face.
You must be cautious upon the first ride because this baby has a little surge upon initial acceleration which one must get used to.
Yesterday my wife rode the bike for the first time on a glorious New Years Day in Los Angeles on the beach ride but please do not come here if you're not already a resident as we are far too crowded, taxes are horrible and unless you have a high paying job (think $150,000+) you will be very displeased at your housing options.
Anyway we rode for an hour and a half and for the first time ever I could ride at my normal pace and there was nothing but pleasure during this fine break in .
The bike used almost no charge and we went around 14 miles on the flat.
The Aventon is much lighter the ergonomics are better and the pricing is half that of the Pedago's we had been renting. It also comes with some very nice tires with built in reflectors a comfortable Velo seat and the Shimano group set was flawless as you would expect.
Based on this ride I say buy one asap before the price goes up!
I have been looking for an E-bike for several years. After reading reviews and watching the Aventon videos I ordered the Pace 500 and received it very quickly. I am fairly mechanical but found that the instructions lacked several details. No mention of the arrows which must match for the electrical connection to work (very hard to see) and no instructions on adjusting the angle of the stem. The bike was also missing one of the bolts on the display.
