Unless I am missing something, true MIK-ready racks always have that open notch at the front of the top platform (shown in this Aventon photo). That’s the “catch” point where MIK accessories slide forward and then click into place.
- The rack on my Level 3 (delivered Aug 30, 2025) has extra cross-metal covering that notch area (see my photo), which effectively blocks the slide-in action, and does not match this rack.
- This means my Level 3 delivered rack is not directly MIK-compatible, even if marketing photos or the website suggest otherwise.
- In this case, the only way to use MIK accessories on my delivered Level 3 rack is to purchase this newer Aventon rack with the proper notch or purchase the MIK adapter/compatibility plate, which mounts on top of the existing rack and provides the proper slot system. Without it, MIK bags, baskets, or crates won’t latch properly.
