Item was shipped quickly and free of damage!

Bought a spare battery for our Aventon Aventure 3 so on longer family rides we can hot swap battery of whoever was most lazy on the initial leg :). Batter did not come with cover, bought that later and now 100.

Love the Aventons, have an Aventure 2 and just bought two Aventure 3s, more to come. Found a local bike shop that sells and services so that and quality of these bikes is massive win VS similar price online only buys. We had 4 e bikes from Ride1UP...direct online seller...and while they have good quality there is no ability to get serviced as they only exist out on West Coast. We got rid of 2 of them.

THIS review is b/c I bought an extra Aventure 3 battery so we could do hot swap on longer trips for whichever of us had burned most battery and got to zero prior to trip end. We have good storage over back wheel so lugging one spare battery on 3 person/3 bike ride is no issue. I bought the $499 battery and it SHOULD HAVE had a clear 'cover sold separately' and/or at least a suggestive 'people who bought this also bought that' indicator that there was a battery cover available. I get that it is not included, makes sense as many battery buyers will be folks who have a failed/old battery and will then move the cover from old to new. Is only 4 screws and a 10 minute process. HOWEVER, literally no indication on the site at point of sale that says the battery does not have an integrated cover (many do, some do not, this does no). I care zero about the very fair $11 the new cover costs but it is a shame I am forced to spend $15 to ship a $10 item as HAD IT BEEN CLEAR that there was no cover integrated in battery................IE sold separately (again, fair/understood/cheap)....I would have ordered both at same time and the added cost to ship the zero pounds plastic cover with the ? 10+ pound battery would have been $0 or $1 added cost. Aventon does a great job at reading/replying to comments, love the bikes and the company. My hope in this review is that Aventon will upgrade/update this part of the site to be what you see on most sites with things like this. Put a huge note that says ' BATTERY COVER SOLD SEPARATELY' and have a link/button on the battery purchase page that is for purchase of the cover if desired.

Battery received in good condition, but couldn't use at first because it didn't have the cover. Wasn't aware that the cover is a separate purchase. You would think at $500 the plastic cover would be included. The new battery doesn't have the same capacity as my original. Perhaps there's a break in period.
