- Aventon ebikes like the Aventure M are built to the IPX6 water-resistant standard. An IPX6 rating means the bike is protected against high-pressure water streams from any angle. This provides strong water resistance, so you can confidently ride in heavy rain or through puddles and mud. However, IPX6 does not mean waterproof—Aventon ebikes are not designed for full submersion. Avoid using a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike, as pressurized water can still damage components.
- Additionally, the Aventon A100 mid-drive motor was built to an IP67 water-resistance standard, meaning that it was built to withstand submission in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Yes, Aventure M is able to be configured into both a Class 2 and Class 3 ebike via the Aventon:MyRide app. The throttle is not included with Aventure M and must be purchased separately.
The Aventure M is compatible with the Aventon Throttle, sold separately, available on Aventon.com and your local Aventon dealer. Be sure to select the proper model for Aventure M.
Auto Mode is accessible through either the main display menu (accessed by pressing and holding the “+” and “-” buttons simultaneously) or on the Aventon:MyRide app
Auto Shift is accessible through the main display menu (accessed by pressing and holding the “+” and “-” buttons simultaneously), the Aventon:MyRide app under “More Settings”, or by holding the back of the E-Shifter pod until the top LED turns blue.
The E-Shift electronic shifting system is still wired into the frame. The E-Shifter Pod works through the ACU and A100 motor to communicate with the E-Puller on the drive-side chainstay. The E-Puller then uses a regular shift cable to move the derailleur. However, the much shorter cable reduces cable stretch and helps with smooth and accurate shifting across the cassette.
Auto Mode utilizes a comprehensive power curve to respond more dynamically to the rider’s power output. This means the rider can access the full range of the bike’s pedal assist, making for a more natural-feeling ride.
Auto Shift chooses the optimal gear for any ride by reading the rider’s power output, cadence, and speed, thereby simplifying the ride experience and allowing the rider to enjoy where they’re at in their adventure.
Fat bikes are designed for all-terrain use and can handle various off-road terrains, including dirt trails, sand, and snow, as well as paved surfaces.
The Aventure M weighs in at 73lbs, which includes an 8.7lb battery. This weight is based on a size Large.
- GPS Location: GPS positioning is performed periodically and the position is updated to the Aventon app.
- 4G cellular communication: The ACU communicates with cloud servers over 4G cellular networks.
- Geofencing: Set boundaries where your ebike is allowed or not allowed to go.
- Report Lost: With 4G subscription, the motor assistance can be disabled from the Aventon app, and the bike’s motor will stop functioning.
- Remote shutdown: The Aventon app can remotely control the shutdown of the ACU via Bluetooth or 4G network.
- Alarm and Motion sensor: Now you can remotely detect movement and security verification failure, all from the Aventon app. After the shutdown, the ACU’s built-in accelerometer will continuously monitor for vibrations (such as being moved, falling, etc), and will report it through the 4G connection when detected.
- Status report: With 4G, whether your bike is on or off, the ebike status info like location and battery is directly uploaded to the cloud server when the Aventon app is not connected. Through your Aventon app, you can also receive updates on ebike status and change notification frequency as desired.
- Ride statistics summary: During your ride - mileage, duration, start/end locations are recorded and uploaded to the cloud server via Bluetooth or 4G, even when your Aventon app is not in use.
- Transportation Mode: All functions such as status reporting and vibration monitoring can be turned off. For long-distance transportation, reducing the use of ACU’s 4G, can save battery power.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:
- 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
- 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
- 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
- 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
- 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
- 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
- 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.
