Limited Warranty Coverage and Periods of Warranty

Aventon extends the Limited Warranty on designated components of the Products as specified below.  At Aventon’s sole option, it may require the Product owner to first exhaust any applicable warranty provided from any third-party manufacturer for non-Aventon manufactured products or components, including but not limited to drivetrains, brakes, and suspension parts, installed on the Product(s) at the time of original retail sale.  Moreover, third-party components may also be covered under their separate warranties from their respective manufacturers for a period of time longer than those coverage periods provided by this Limited Warranty.

Two-Year Limited Warranty Period

  • Limited frame warranty. Aventon provides the limited warranty on the structural integrity of all Aventon-branded frames and framesets for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase, excluding cosmetics such as but not limited to paint and graphics.  Frameset means an Aventon-branded frame equipment with an Aventon-branded rigid fork, but does not include suspension forks and suspension parts, including the frame hardware and kick stand. *The original retail purchaser may extend the warranty coverage period on the structural integrity of the frame and frameset to a lifetime warranty upon registering the Product with Aventon within ninety (90) days from the date of original retail purchase; however, any lifetime warranty shall be provided only to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable.

  • Limited drivetrain warranty.  Aventon provides the limited warranty on Aventon-branded motors and/or drive system components, which shall include only the crankset, hanger, and pedals, for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase.

  • Limited electrical warranty.  Aventon provides the limited warranty on Aventon-branded electrical components, which shall only include the battery and battery terminal, cadence sensor, charger, controller, display, electronic control unit (ECU), front and rear light, harness, motor, throttle, and torque sensor, for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase.

  • Limited wheels warranty.  Aventon provides the limited warranty on Aventon-branded wheels, which shall only include the non-electric hubs, rims and spokes, and wheel hardware, for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase.

  • Limited battery warranty.  Aventon provides the limited warranty on all Aventon-branded e-bike batteries provided for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase or 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first. The battery provided with the original retail purchase of the Product is designed to retain up to 75% of its original capacity during the coverage period of 2 years or 300 charging cycles.  E-bike batteries purchased separately from the Products shall be covered under the limited warranty, if any, provided with the battery at its time of purchase.

  • Limited accessories warranty.  Aventon provides the limited warranty on only the following Aventon-branded accessories that are installed on the Product at the time of original retail purchase: fender, front rack, locks, lights, and rear rack for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase.

This Limited Warranty does not, under any circumstances, provide coverage for loss or theft of the Products.

Wear and Tear Not Covered

Wear and tear refers to damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal riding. For example, the cassette and chain on the Product will, even if properly maintained, eventually wear out requiring replacement. The same applies to brake pads that will wear upon use.  Your Product may over time also develop minor creaks or other noises while riding which usually means it requires maintenance.  Always inspect, maintain, and ride your Product in accordance with Aventon’s instructions and guidelines.

Wear and tear items are not covered by this Limited Warranty. The following is a non-exhaustive list of typical wear and tear items that are not covered:

  1. Bearings

  2. Brake Pads

  3. Chains

  4. Free Hub Bodies

  5. Handlebar Grips

  6. Rubber moving parts

  7. Shifter, brake cables and casings

  8. Sprockets

  9. Transmission gears

  10. Cassette and chain

  11. Derailleurs

Terms of Limited Warranty

To take advantage of this Limited Warranty, a dated proof of original retail purchase must be presented to Aventon. Proof of original retail purchase is needed whether you are the original retail purchaser or subsequent owner.  In all events, the Limited Warranty will not provide coverage for Products located outside of the country where the Product was first purchased by the original purchaser.

During the duration of the Limited Warranty, Aventon will either repair or replace the defective component(s) of the Product or, at Aventon’s option, replace the Product (or any component(s) of the Product) with the same or most similar Product then available. That is because Aventon does not keep inventory forever, so Aventon may not have the exact replacement part or Product available. If the defective components(s), or the Product, is replaced, it needs to be returned to Aventon before the replacement is provided unless otherwise agreed to by Aventon in writing. You will not be charged for shipping costs incurred in processing any Limited Warranty claim, however, Aventon in its sole discretion can determine whether the return address provided to it is acceptable for use in handling any warranty claim.  For example, Aventon will not ship replacement parts and/or Products to P.O. Boxes.

This Limited Warranty does not cover labor costs or associated expenses incurred in connection with the removal of any component parts of the Product, installation of any replacement parts, or any other services related to part, or Product, replacement under the terms of this Limited Warranty.  All such labor expenses shall be borne exclusively by the owner of the Product, unless otherwise required by applicable local law or as agreed in writing by Aventon.

Limited Warranty Process Initiation

The first step is to contact customer experience or an Authorized Aventon Retailer, depending on where the original purchase occurred. Your Authorized Aventon Retailer or customer service representative will inspect the Product and contact you for next steps.  To contact your original Authorized Aventon Retailer or if purchased online, a form can be filled out (Warranty Form).

Shipping Damage

Damage to a Product during shipping is not covered by this Limited Warranty. Notwithstanding such limitation, Aventon agrees to replace such damaged Products if you:

  1. Notify Aventon of damage to a Product in the shipping process within seven (7) days of the date of your receipt of the Product;

  2. Promptly provide Aventon with dated pictures and/or a video of the damaged Product;

  3. Return all original packaging and paperwork included with the Product; and

  4. Inspect the Product immediately upon receipt of the Product, and note in clear detail any immediately recognizable damage to the Product on the shipper’s Bill of Lading prior to signing off on the shipment of the Product.

If you choose to set up your own independent shipping method, such as use of freight forwarder or similar service, Aventon will not be responsible for the replacement of any Products damaged during such shipping method.

EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES

THIS IS A FULL AND COMPLETE STATEMENT OF AVENTON’S LIMITED WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT. NO OTHER REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE PRODUCT.

AVENTON’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW BE NO GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE FOR THE PRODUCT AND IN NO EVENT SHALL AVENTON BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR LOSSES, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT.  THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY AVENTON’S GROSS NEGLIGENCE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, AVENTON HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, FOR THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. TO THE EXTENT THESE IMPLIED WARRANTIES CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LIFE OF THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY.

SOME STATES, PROVINCES, OR COUNTRIES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. If it is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction that a certain provision of this Limited Warranty does not apply, all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
