Tech Roundup: Cruise Control
September 2, 2025
Aventon’s bike lineup offers a mix of extended range and supreme comfort, making any of our bikes a perfect companion to cruise the miles of bike path and open road. Getting out and pedalling is only part of the joy of being in nature, and understanding this, we are happy to dig into one of our latest Over-The-Air Update features: Cruise Control.
Why Cruise Control?
Cruise Control takes the reins and helps extend your ride when the trail keeps calling your name but your legs need a break from pedaling. Ebikes are a great tool and partner for enabling outdoor activity and being able to cruise and enjoy your ride, and adding Cruise Control was an essential feature for anyone wanting to adventure further.
It is important to note that Cruise Control is not autopilot, so you still have to keep hands on the bars at all times and practice riding best practices.
Because of the nature of this update, mainly the fact that the primary method of deactivation is using the electronic brake cutoff, this update is only available on Aventure 3, Abound SR/LR, and Pace 4.
How To Use
Cruise Control is activated by pressing and holding the right (“>”) button while cruising at your desired speed. You can verify that cruise control is activated by confirming that the speedometer icon has appeared above the Assist Level on your display. The motor output and speed will be set and held until one of the three following things happens:
