Sea Otter 2026: The eBike Race Presented by Aventon - Course Reveal
March 15, 2026
The Sea Otter Classic is a gathering place for cycling fanatics of all disciplines: mountain, road, and gravel bikers congregate at the iconic Laguna Seca Racetrack in Monterey, CA for a long weekend of product releases, community, and of course, racing.
Making its return after a one-year hiatus, the eBike Race is a unique discipline in that it is the only event to feature ebikes exclusively. With more challenging climbs than cross country and descents that rival those in the enduro races, the eBike race pits rider and bike against some of the toughest terrain at the festival.
Intending to keep the course as prestine as possible leading up to the event, the Sea Otter organization has waited longer to announce the route. Today, March 15, they posted the route on their website
The race itself is comprised of three 6-mile laps with around 700ft of climbing per lap.
Not all eBikes are eligable for this race. The rules state that the motor must have a maximum output of 750W, be a true Class 1 (no throttle), and not output pedal assist past 20mph.
The last and final requirement is that the motor of the bike must be installed in the factory, meaning that the Aventon Ramblas is fully eligable to be raced at the Sea Otter eBike Race!
