Coachella may be sold out for next year, but California’s most exciting bicycle event of the year is opening its registration on October 7! Sign up for one of the many rides at the 2026 Sea Otter Classic Bike Festival, including the newly-revived eMTB Race presented by Aventon!
The eMTB race is scheduled for Friday April 17th, 2026 and will give you a chance to highlight your riding skills on varied terrain featuring techy climbs and fast flowing descents! We're proud to be partnering with the Sea Otter team to make this event bigger and better than ever. Register HERE
The Sea Otter Classic is a bike festival held at the legendary Laguna Seca Race since 1991.
For over 34 years, Sea Otter has been a hub for cycling enthusiasts to gather, ride, and see state-of-the-art bike tech. One of the highlights of every year (besides the camping, camaraderie, and food) are the rides! From competitive mountain biking to casual road riding and everything in between, Sea Otter has a ride for you and your family!

Full Equipment Regulations from Sea Otter
Age-graded: E-bike with a Class 1 Label (and as follows)
- Pedal-assisted e-Bikes must have Class 1 label
- Only a single battery allowed (no spares) and battery range extenders are prohibited.
- A pedal assist bicycle only. No pedaling, no power assist.
- Top speed with power assist is 20 mph and power assist stops if speed is above 20 mph
- Maximum 750w output, no throttle allowed
- Aftermarket e-Bike kits /modifications are prohibited.
Open: E-bike with a Class 1 Label (and as follows):
- Only pedal-assisted E-bikes with motors from the following verified manufacturers are allowed:
- Bosch
- Bafang
- Brose
- Shimano
- Yamaha
- Fazua
- Aventon Ramblas
- TQ Motors
- Equipment present in the inspection corral may be tested and possibly ridden to verify equipment
- A pedal-assist bicycle only. No pedaling, no power assist.
- Top speed with power assist is 20 mph and power assist stops if speed is above 20 mph
- Maximum 750w output, no throttle allowed
- Aftermarket e-Bike kits /modifications are prohibited.
Race staff will complete equipment inspections post-race to the top three in the Elite Category, and random pre-race equipment inspections for all race categories.
