Aventon has been steadily updating our lineup with industry-leading security and connectivity features made possible by our Aventon Control Unit (ACU) technology. Incorporating the ACU into our ebikes makes it possible to improve and expand the host of available features via Over-The-Air updates. This means you no longer have to buy the newest ebike to get the newest features.

The latest firmware update introduces an exciting new feature called Boost Mode. Available on all ACU-equipped, hub-driven ebike models, Boost Mode allows the rider to access up to 120% of specced torque and peak power for up to 30 seconds at a time. It turns steep hills into shortcuts and handles heavy hauls hassle-free. This update truly enables riders to step up to new challenges and access that surge of power when they need it most.

After a rider activates Boost Mode, there is a brief 5-minute reset period during which the bike goes back to the standard power curve in order to keep the system healthy and ready for your next adventure. If the time requirement hasn’t been met, a timer will appear on the display indicating how much time remains before Boost mode can be activated again.

Aventon is offering the Boost Mode update for all ACU-equipped, hub-driven models through an Over-The-Air firmware update. Abound LR, Abound SR, Aventure 3, Level 3, and Pace 4 are all ready to be updated and Boosted wherever your next adventure takes you!

Available through the Aventon: MyRide app, riders can either choose to update their ebike firmware at the release of the update (a notification will appear on your ebike homepage upon opening the app) or navigate to “More Settings” and the “Update Firmware” option. Verify that the update is Version 1.7.5 or newer.

Once the update is installed, Boost Mode is ready to rip. Boost Mode is accessed through the Mode Selector using the “+” and “-” arrows. Use the “+” button to select Boost Mode, which is one mode above Turbo, and, if all conditions are met, you’re ready to go.
