Pace 500 ships as a Class III ebike, with up to 28 MPH on pedal assist and 20 MPH on throttle. If you are riding on private property or in an area without ebike speed restrictions, the speed limit can be modified in the settings, and Pace 500's powerful motor can go up to about 32 MPH on pedal assist. I am an eighty two year old ex marathoner, long distance road biker and have exercised my whole life. After eighty I found it hard to get off my road bike. Could not get my leg over the bar. My cousin suggest I get a step through (we called it a girls bike growing up). What a wonderful experience. I ride 100 miles a week and the Pace 500 is terrific. If you are over eighty and want to feel safe, buy this bike. It will get you out the door.
Been good so far. Notice many accesories are out of stock.
I purchased the 500 Step through for my wife. When I ordered it the site said 44 till delivery. We got it in 2 weeks, however the fenders I ordered with it did not come and a credit was issued back to me for the fenders but with no email or explanation from Aventon. I figure backordered due to Covid and not that big of deal at this point. The bike seems to be well built but I was disappointed with a few things upon putting it together. First, it had a sheet showing a deviation to the set-up saying the derailer was already installed at factory. The derailer was not installed at the factory. Again not a big deal but wondered why they included a separate instruction sheet when it wasn't correct. Next up was installing the rear tire. Upon installation the derailer bracket cracked off. I cannot understand why they would make the derailer bracket out if some weak plastic type material. After multiple cuss words I discovered they sent an extra one with the kit so this must be a known issue. For $1 more they could make the derailer bracket out of metal.
After the few assembly snafu's all is well. Bike rides well and is easy to learn to operate. My wife was an expert in an hour or so. We will be trying again to order the fenders as the first time riding on wet pavement gave us both a nice stripe up the back of our shirts.
So easy to adapt to it and so pleasurable to ride.
My boyfriend purchased this bike for himself last year in a size medium. He’s a bike connoisseur, and out of other highly rated brands, decided to go with the Aventon. He raved about to the point that I became a believer. Fast forward a year later, and I purchased my Pace 500 in Sand. I’ve taken it on a ride everyday since owning it. This is the best money I’ve spent all year. I highly suggest purchasing this!
