Having read several excellent reviews of the bike and the range, I was really hoping to go full blast level 5 the whole way for my 22 mile (flat) commute to work. Alas, this is a pipe dream. While the bike would comfortably go level 4 for 22 miles, I can only use level 5 for short periods of time. At 28 mph, the motor just drains the battery too quickly - I can practically see the battery level falling as I'm riding at full assist. While I don't think there's anything wrong with my bike, I am unable to replicate other people's experience where they got 25 miles at level 5 the whole way.
Assembly was not bad. I would suggest tightening the spokes of both wheels, the rear derailer needs adjusting after install, the seat needed to be leveled. Tires need air when delivered.
There's a front locking bolt which needs to be loosened in addition to the side ones for tilting the height of the handlebars (which I did not find in the assembly instructions).
Overall, a very fun bike - would recommend.
Pace 500 ebike
The bike is fascinating and pretty, but mine was stolen in Boston a month after I bought it. I guess it was a mistake to buy such a nice bike.
Please send me a brochure of this e bike
I love my new Aventon Pace 500 Step Through ebike! It went together easily with two people working together while watching the Aventon "How to Assemble" video. (The only challenge was seating the handlebars with the front fork. No idea why it didn't want to mount easily, but we got it accomplished). My first test ride was a bit of surprise of how much power and zip the bike has while going up hill. Reminded me of riding a 2-stroke motorcycle! (On or Off...little in between)...It will take a bit of getting used to, and I'll probably be turning off the assist unless it's really needed for long, steep hills. This would be a perfect commuter bike for anyone. It will definitely keep up with traffic in a busy city. It's as good as or better than the reviews state! 5 stars from me!! I'm looking forward to bike paths (rails to trails, Coeur d'Alene Trail, Glenwood Springs Canyon Trail, etc...). This is a perfect bike for me! Summer trips will be Grand Adventures on my Aventon! LOVE IT!!
