this crankset is good

at first I never think this is a good crankset until I see and buy it. this crankset is very solid build and it is very light too. But it is very familiar to 8bar mega crankset like they are the same except the chainring

LOVE IT!

I'm new to city cycling and had a Push Crankset before upgrading to the Fairfax. When I had it installed, the guy at the shop was even amazed on how light and smooth the Fairfax was. He told me I made a wise investment and will look into trying to sell it at his shop!

Once I hit the streets, I was gliding across the asphalt. Felt super clean, super lightweight, no snags, and full of speed. I LOVE IT!!!!

Solid crank, poor interface with bottom bracket

I bought this crankset a couple of months ago and I am decently happy with it. The solid build and nice looks of the crankset are definitely a plus. Unfortunately I've had some issues with the crankset meshing with my bottom bracket. When I installed the crankset, I used a Shimano gxp style bottom bracket that I had because I thought it would be better quality than the one that came in the box. Unfortunately after a few weeks I started having a very choppy and clunky ride. When I examined the crankset, I had found that it had been eroding the face of the bottom bracket, making a huge mess of the BB. I ended up swapping out the Shimano BB for the one in the box and it's been ok so far, but it still might be too early to tell. Also, something that I didn't realize about the crankset until I bought it is that the chainring falls on the non drive side of the crank. It looks kinda normal with the chainring aventon supplies, but I'm currently riding on a FSA track chainring and it looks a little weird, almost like the chainring is installed incorrectly. If I were to do it again, I would probably pay a little more and buy omniums.

Hi Matt, thanks for writing a review. This crankset is not compatible with Shimano bottom brackets. It uses the SRAM/Truvativ type, which looks very similar, but is not quite identical. For correct results you should use the bottom bracket that comes with the crank, or as an alternative, a SRAM/Truvativ brand BB if a replacement or upgrade is desired. Thanks!

Best Pizza Slicer Ever*

One day I decided to build-up a new fixie street masher; this is the crank I went with. Overall, I've been super happy with the quality of it considering I never expect much from in-house parts/accessories. My only issues are the teeth options. 46 or 48t? Only small children and old people ride 46 or 48t. Real men ride 55x11, 'nuff said.

Before installing it on my back I also use the chainring-side to slice a pizza, worked beautifully. Super stiff slicing action. I used the non-drive side arm to mash some potatoes. Again: beautiful.

Good crank

At first I was skeptical on buying this crank because of the price and thought that the quality might not be as good as sg75s or omnis. Compared to sg75s and omnis, this crank is very durable and the quality is amazing. I would recommend this crankset because compared to the other, you wouldn't have to buy the chain ring for the crank to be smooth. This crank is smooth as a baby's bottom.
